We are off to a good start for the new year. We have an exciting list of president’s challenges planned for 2020. Last year only 5 people qualified for the Ironman award. I am hoping that more people will participate in the president’s challenges this year and qualify for the award. For the demos and programs, we are in good hands. Both Don Bonnett and Dennis Lillis work as a team to bring us the best programs, demos, and turn-n-learn sessions. We had our first 2020 board meeting on the 22nd of this month. Our board approved the use of Wild Apricot website builder for all our communication and web presence needs. The new website and the platform will provide our club with advanced membership management features that we sorely lacked in the past. With any changes like the one we have embarked on, there will be a period when the members go through a learning process of using the new system and getting accustomed to the changes. Please bear with us and help us by giving all the feedbacks and your technical expertise to make our website the best in the woodturning community. Only by getting feedback on what can be improved and how it should be improved can we have a system that works for everyone in the club.

One of the personal goals I have for this year is to make sure that I do my part to get the Chips & Chatter out to you all on time. It is a monumental task given all that goes into publishing the newsletter. Our team of newsletter editors already have the focus and plan to achieve this goal. As a club run by volunteers, we can always use a helping hand with club activities. So please let us know how you can help the club. Happy turning.
